Hydrochloric acid or hydrochloric acid (salt ink) is a clear, colorless, and highly odorous solution of hydrogen chloride in water with the chemical formula HCl. It is a highly corrosive and acidic mineral acid with many industrial applications. This acid is widely used because it is one of the basic chemicals.
Colorless hydrochloric acid gas with a pungent odor and an acidic taste is heavier than air. It is easily liquefied and, when wet or dissolved, turns blue to red.

It is used in the chemical industry in the large-scale production of vinyl chloride used to make polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics.
It is one of the chemicals used to produce polyurethane foam and calcium chloride.
Hydrochloric acid is also used to make many other chemicals and as a disinfectant and disinfectant.
Other common uses for HCL include household cleaners, pool maintenance, and food production.
Production of hydrochloric acid steel is used in pickling operations to remove rust and other impurities from carbon, alloy and stainless steel, preparation of steel for final applications in construction projects and in products such as car bodies and home appliances. Also used in aluminum and metal cleaning applications.
