Potassium hydroxide is often used as an additive in commercial processed foods or as a chemical coating for fruits and vegetables.
Potash is used in chocolate making, cocoa processing and beverages, and as a thickener in ice cream.
Potash acts as an antifoam agent in the paper making process and is used as a nutrient for grass growth in industrial fertilizers, fungicides and herbicides.
